About Pediatric Stroke

Pediatric Stroke affects about 1 in 2700 infants and occur way prior to birth. The reasons for babies having a stroke range from a maternal infection to a lack of oxygen, however more research needs to be done. The long-term effects are different for each child and also depend on how soon after the stroke happened the diagnosis was made. As usual, the sooner, the better. A baby's brain grows incredibly fast, with lots and lots of brain cells that later on won't be needed, so their chances of recovery are quite well with the right therapy.
